Sociology Graduate Students Present Work at Recent Conferences
Sociology graduate students Melodie Griffis and Bhvana Mahat presented their work at two recent professional conferences. Griffis presented her paper titled, "The Need for an Intersectionality Approach to the Studies of Emotion Work and Edgework" at the 2008 Midwest Sociological Society Annual Meeting in St. Louis. A group of supporters attended her presentation, including Kadie Campbell, Hanna Jokinen-Gordon, Bhavana Mahat, Shankar Ravi, Joanna Sites, and Ashley Stills.
Bhavana Mahat presented her poster "Sex-trafficking in Nepal: Prostitution and Intervention through Effective Networking" at an International Conference on Combatting Sex-Trafficking at UNC-Chapel Hill.
